ABOUT THIS MLS® AREA

Description
Fort Richmond is a popular spot for young families, students, and university staff and educators. The area, which was established in the early 1960s and developed until the mid-1980s, offers a mix of detached homes, apartments, and semi-detached properties. The young families, students, and professionals who call Fort Richmond home enjoy their community's proximity to major attractions such as Investors Group Field, the home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Residents can also get out and enjoy a round of golf and drinks at the Southwood Golf & Country Club. There are parks, recreation centres, and plenty of shopping and dining opportunities to appeal to all tastes and budgets.
Much of University Heights is composed of the Agassiz Park district, which lies to the east of University Crescent. The neighbourhood is made up of five gently curving streets oriented around a centrally located elementary school, and can be accessed via only two entrances of the Crescent. This area includes approximately 200 homes – predominantly bungalows – constructed in the early 1960s.
The greater city area, considered simply Fort Garry, has neigbourhoods running alongside both sides of Pembina offering a range of housing prices from bungalows in Fort Garry proper, to large multi-storey homes in the older area of Whyte Ridge and the new ever-expanding burbs of Bridgewater, to farm-style abodes down in St. Norbert, where the city meets the prairie. Due to the constant growth of the Bridgewater area, more and more amenities like restaurants and shopping continue to pop up, however the area lacks primary and secondary schools.
